The mercury only dipped as far as seven degrees overnight in Ballarat. We can expect a top of 14 degrees today after the morning fog clears. Winds northerly and light becoming west to southwesterly in the morning.


Police were called to a single-car crash on Drummond Street South at 12.20am on Monday morning where a person was trapped. 

Police are now investigating a suspected gas leak after fire crews were called to a smoke alarm at a Wendouree.

After fire crews forced entry and the occupants of the home could not be located, the matter was handed to police.


Paramedics have nothing to report yet.


Wendouree and Ballarat fire crews were forced to break into a Wendouree home after being called to a smoke alarm at 11.40pm. 

Upon arrival fire fighters could smell gas, however the source of the gas could not be located

The occupants of the McNulty Drive home could not be located and police are now investigating.

Fire crews were called to a single-car accident on Drummond Street South at 12.20am where they had to free the occupants of the car. 

Fire fighters were able to free the occupants of the car without "too many hassles".


Due to Regional Rail Link works all services between Southern Cross and Ballarat are operating as coaches today.

Trains still operating between Ballarat - Ararat/Maryborough.
