A somewhat mild night, with the temperature dipping no lower than 8.1 degrees at midnight before rising to 10.6 degrees at 9am.

Just 0.6mm of rain fell despite a humidity level of 100 per cent. Winds southwesterly and light.

The forecast for the rest of Saturday is partly cloudy with a shower or two increasing to a few showers around lunch time. Winds southwesterly up to about 25 km/h and a top temperature of 13 degrees before dropping to four degrees overnight.


Police report no major incidents or arrests overnight apart from the odd minor disturbance.


A quiet night also for the Country Fire Authority in Ballarat with no significant call outs to hand over.


And in a clean sweep for the emergency services, there were no trauma incidents in the region last night, according to Ambulance Victoria.


Due to V/Line track works, coaches will replace some services between Ararat and Melbourne from today until Wednesday, June 11. Ballarat services will run as normal.

Trains will run to a Saturday timetable on the Queen's Birthday public holiday on Monday.
