EARLIER
POLICE are searching for two men that evaded them in a pursuit near Balliang last night.
A stolen white Holden Commodore Sedan failed to stop when police tried to intercept it before 4pm yesterday and police began to pursue the vehicle.
The vehicle was allegedly involved in several offences over the past few days, including thefts and police pursuits.
The offenders dumped the vehicle in a paddock west of Balliang Road, Balliang, and fled by foot.
Victoria police spokesperson Creina O’Grady said police conducted an extensive search of the surrounding area using a helicopter, the dog squad and some off-road motorbikes.
Police concentrated their search around neighbouring rural properties and the Balliang area but were unable to locate the offenders - calling off the search just after 10pm last night.
Ms O’Grady said police were today making enquiries on the whereabouts of the two men.
