Captain Johanna Dash, Emma Ryan and Cassie Peace were headlined as Pride’s top three players in the championship division.
The season break-up saw 60 players, parents, team officials and committee members join FUniversity Vice Chancellor David Battersby in celebrations yesterday.
Madison Davis, Sally Portbury and Jane Costello were named as MVPs in Pride’s division one side, while Kelly Conroy, Hayley Fidler and Maddison Gay were awarded the club’s highest honour for their efforts in the 19-and-under team.
This year saw Pride play a major role in helping three players achieve state and national selection.
Emma Ryan, Katherine Dicker and Jane Costello were selected to represent the Victorian 12-and-under, 19-and-under and Fiji national teams respectively.
Club loyalty and long service awards were given to Lauren Atkinson and Johanna Dash.
Pride contested 16 away games and just two home matches this season, with 30 players, three coaches and three managers as well as primary care and fitness coaches required for every match, including games with a four-day turnaround.
Pride head coach Jo Dash lauded the dedication of the club’s players and staff.
Pride has been shortlisted for the now vacant VNL licence and is waiting on a final outcome.
A final decision on the shortlisted candidates could be made when the NV board meets for a recommendation this week.
