We've dived straight into the heart of winter as the end of June approaches. Yesterday's bone-chilling winds will carry through to today and we will see a top of 11 degrees with a shower or two.

Winds westerly 25 to 35 km/h tending northwesterly 30 to 40 km/h in the late afternoon.

Police had nothing to report.

Two trucks attended an arcing powerline on Victoria Street at the front of a Ballarat East home. Horrid weather is to blame for the issue.

Powercor arrived shortly after 10.30pm and controlled the powerline.

Three crews attended a false alarm at the Esta Call Centre, Mt Helen,  just before 11.30pm.

It was a quiet night for paramedics who attended no trauma cases over night.

Due to a signal fault between Rockbank & Melton, significant delays are being experienced on the Ballarat line.

The fault is believed to have been caused by vandalism.

We  will be following up shortly.
