WORLD CUP
What a dramatic morning of football in the round of 16 FIFA World Cup.
Tournament heavyweights Netherlands came within minutes of suffering a shock elimination at the hands of Mexico, only to score two goals in six minutes to progress.
A goal in the 88th minute to Wesley Sneijder leveled the scores at 1-1, before Klaas-Jan Huntelaar converted a penalty in the 94th minute to send his country into the quarter finals.
In the other match for the morning, Costa Rica claimed a stunning penalty shootout victory over Greece.
Despite being down to 10 men, the Costa Ricans were able to hold off repeated attacks from the Greeks in the 30 minutes of extra time, before winning the penalty shootout 5-3.
It is the furthest Costa Rica has ever progressed in the tournament.
