Breakfast report:July 13

Today's early risers were greeted with frost. However, with extended periods of sun expected, temperatures are set to reach 10 degrees.

Light winds becoming west to south westerly 15 to 20 km/h in the morning then becoming light in the early afternoon.

It was a busy night of false alarms for Ballarat's fire crews, who attended a false alarm at Reid's guest house and at Wendouree village shopping centre.

Fire fighters contained a burn off in a rear yard at Dover Street at 11:35pm.

This morning, crews attended two separate false alarms at Federation University.

No delays are expected for those heading to Melbourne. However ongoing Regional Rail Link works mean  coaches will replace trains between Melbourne and Ballarat/Wendouree from Saturday 28 June until Tuesday 15 July.

Paramedics have nothing to report yet.

The Courier plans to have a chat with incoming councillor Glen Crompton before he is sworn in at a council meeting on July 16.

The Courier will also attended the second day of the Rug Up Market where nine-year-old Anastasia Parker, of Ballarat,  will contribute to the stitching of the replica Eureka Flag.
