Under the new operators, the market will be relaunched in spring and will be renamed the Buninyong Village Market.
Buninyong Good Life Committee spokesperson Lisa Cressey said the market would be rebranded and expanded to include a greater range of stalls and activities like foods and produce, fundraising stalls and music.
“Over the coming years, our committee looks forward to developing the Buninyong Village Market and, of course, generating some funds to enable the Good Life Festival to get bigger and stronger,” Ms Cressey said.
The first of the new-look markets is expected to be held in October.
Initiated 15 years ago, the monthly Buninyong Farmers’ Market was held in DeSoza Park, but relocated to the Buninyong Town Hall in recent years.
The Ballarat East Rotary Club, which has operated the event for the past four years, held its last market on June 21.
Buninyong and District Community Association secretary Gayle Adams praised Rotary volunteers for organising and holding the market.
