HUNDREDS of houses are without power in Central Ballarat after a car crashed into a power pole in Redan.

A Powercor spokesman said after the 2pm crash, 3721 properties lost power in Delacombe, Redan and Newington.
A car travelling west on Latrobe Street hit the pole after colliding with a vehicle turning from Ripon St that failed to give way, according to the Ballarat Highway Patrol.
No one was injured in what police described as a "minor accident".
A further 461 properties in Redan and Newington were without electricity until 7pm, with Powercor crews at the site until 5.30pm.
