The Lions served up exactly that to secure back-to-back titles in Ballarat Football League youth girls on Sunday.
Rival Lake Wendouree was just as tough in the contest at Eastern Oval.
The Lions were the more effective team on the scoreboard, booting 7.3 (45) to the Lakers 0.2 (2).
Wilson was emotional in the rooms post-match after the girls boomed out the club song.
"I'm so proud of them," Wilson said.
"They're all level on the playing field - right from ages 13 to 18, the players look after each other."
Youth Girls' best and fairest Amy McDonald reinforced her reputation as a fierce onballer and collected the best on ground medallion.
Lion Ange McTaggart was powerful at full forward and kicked four goals including three in the first half.
Lakers' Nikkita Alexander dominated the ruck and teammate Anna Rice was relentless on the wing.
A strong, vocal crowd loved it. Cars on the boundary sounded their horns. Redan flags were flying from the pavilion and Lakers supporters donned their green and gold to match players' hair ribbons.
Tackling intensity was sharp and high-flying marks had fans cheering.
Lakers coach Matt Newbury said his players served up a terrific game.
Newbury said his team had improved so much this season and could hardly wait to see how much they might step up again next year.
"The girls were out there trying to do everything as our team plays, we just weren't quite good enough on the day," Newbury said.
"We've got some terrific young girls in the side playing well like Evelyn Trainor and Amy Jackson and hopefully they can all keep improving at the start of next year."
Redan took the cup back to City Oval to celebrate with a planned lap of victory during the Lions' juniors fixture before presentations in The Den.
Lions captain Hayley Smith has played in all four BFL youth girls grand finals and, in her final year, said this season was particularly special.
"We're not just a football team. We're like a family - that's what us girls are always saying to each other," Smith said.
"We've had a great season."
