MICHELLE Grace Hunder is set to release her new book following a two-year journey around Australia photographing some of the nations biggest hip-hop stars.
To celebrate the release of the Hunder's book, Rise, Hunder will be joined by a selection of Australian hip-hop artists at Ballarat's Karova Lounge tonight.
Representing the growth of Australian hip-hop, Hunder ventured into the mysterious world of hip-hop to provide an insight into the lives of artists in her new book.
"It was important to highlight the Australian hip-hop scene and seek out Australian hip-hop artists who were talented," she said.
"I hope this book encorages people to go out and find those artists."
After being told in 2012 her portrait style photography needed to be developed, Hunder took the time to perfect her style and as a result her work has been recognised around the nation.
Two years to be exact, and as word got around, the excitment for what Hunder was going to produce was escalating.
"I put a list together of artists, made plans to visit and tried to get to as many places as possible,"she said.
Although she said she couldn't decide on her favourite shot and will leave it to fans to decide.
"They all have different stories, so it's hard to pick my favourite shot, in some the location might have been tricky and others I had a good connection with," she said.
"It's been so long in the making, I'm interested to see what everyone's favourite photo is."
More than 180 artists including Hilltop Hoods, 360, Bliss n Eso, Illy and Allday feature in her book which is set to hit shelves in September.
Tonight Remi, Briggs, Matra, grey Ghost, Dylan Joel and Flagrant will perform at Karova Lounge to celebrate its release.
