Milne, 34, was on Tuesday fined $15,000 by a County Court judge for indecently assaulting the woman, then 19, in the early hours of March 15, 2004.
Milne pleaded guilty to the offence earlier this month after the Office of Public Prosecutions discontinued three rape charges against the former Saints player.
Milne hugged his wife, Melissa, outside the courtroom as he mixed with a large group of supporters, including his father, brother, agent and friends.
Milne indecently assaulted the woman while they were on a bed in the Highett home of his then teammate, Leigh Montagna.
The two footballers, the victim and another woman were on a bed in a darkened room when Milne indecently assaulted the woman after she had earlier said no to sex.
The victim thought she was with Mr Montagna at the time and only realised afterwards that she had had sex with Milne.
