But unlike their traditional live performances at the many local venues around town, they will be returning to very different crowd.
The Royce Twins’ Gabriel and Michael Saalfi eld will be singing to every man and his bike as they set up stage around Lake Wendouree for the Ballarat Cycle Classic.
“It’s awesome coming back; we’re looking forward to it,” Gabriel said.
With the cause close to their hearts, Gabriel said they were ecstatic to be part of such a significant event for the city and the Fiona Elsey Cancer Research Institute.
“Our mum died of cancer when we were very young,” he said.
“And Ballarat has become our second home.”
The twins will perform songs off their debut EP, including one dedicated to their mum Suzie.
“The song Suzie Royce (Royce is our mum’s maiden name; we’re named the Royce Twins after her) is for her, to say how much she meant to us,” Gabriel said.
The twins will perform at Lake Wendouree near Windmill Drive from noon on February 15.
“We will sing songs off our EP and new songs we’ve just written,” Gabriel said.
The twins spent five years in Ballarat before rising to fame on talent show The X Factor in 2013 and then moving to Melbourne to record more music.
