Not due until September 22, twins Esther Milia and Olivia Rose were born late Thursday night only 14 minutes apart.
First time parents Wilamon and Harley Bailey were delighted to finally be “a mum and dad”.
Mr Bailey said the timing couldn’t have been better.
“We’ve been trying for a long time and I think they are the two most beautiful little things in the whole entire world,” Mr Bailey said.
The Ballarat parents said they found out they were having girls two months into their pregnancy.
“It allowed us to prepare better and as you can imagine everything at home is pink,” he said.
Having no experience with babies before, Mr Bailey said the first thing he had to learn as a dad was how to change a nappy.
“I’ve never held a baby before the girls but I think you just have to learn as you go,” he said.
The Baileys met while working for charity in Thailand and moved back to Mr Bailey’s hometown, Ballarat, two years ago.
“I never imagined being a dad but we’re so happy,” he said.
