A exhibition on the Civic Hall will include pictures, footage of shows and memorabilia.
Curator Barbara Cytowicz said the exhibition was about the hall’s whole life.
“It will really tell the story of the hall, from its establishment and glory days continuing up to the present,” she said. “(The curators) are from museum backgrounds, so it’s an objective look at the place.”
With many community organisations and individuals
lending their memorabilia, the show – called The People’s Hall – will be a trip down memory lane. Curator Judith Buchanan said artists had been generous in putting their own photos and posters on show.
“And it focuses on local, national and international artists,” she said, with artists including INXS and Graeme Vendy represented.
Ms Buchanan said there were also weird and wacky inclusions.
“From the CWA we’ve got this frog costume; impossible to describe,” she said.
