Ballarat clinched a long-awaited victory on Saturday, thumping lowly Sebastopol by 120 points at Alfredton Oval.
The Swans were led by Nigel Otto, who kicked six goals, Chris Thornton and reigning league best and fairest Shane Hutchinson, who booted three majors, in the comprehensive display on home soil.
High-flyer Michael Powell was the only multiple goal-kicker for the Kookaburras, finishing with three.
Elsewhere, East Point clinched a 20-point victory against Melton with a big final term at Eastern Oval.
The Kangaroos trailed the visitors by seven points at the last change, but kicked six goals in the final quarter to run out winners.
Reigning premiers North Ballarat City was too strong for Sunbury at Eureka Stadium, prevailing by 46 points thanks to nine goals from ace forward Derick Micallef, Lake Wendouree made it five wins in-a-row with a 40-point triumph against Bacchus Marsh at Maddingly Park and Darley thumped Melton South in a high-scoring affair at Melton Recreation Reserve, winning 24.11 (155) to 11.12 (78). Rhys Ellis was the main man in front of goal, kicking seven for the Devils.
