More than doubling last year’s attendance, 3500 people made their way through the popular Family Hawkers Market which saw 13 local restaurants and chefs showcase their favourite dishes.
The popularity of Good Food Ballarat continues with a number of venues involved in the month-long festival already sold out.
Inundated with responses, A Night With Peter Ford and Cafe Meigas’ La Fiesta sold out more than a week out from their events.
Other venues including Mitchell Harris Wines, Little Bird Cafe, The Forge Pizzeria and Knife Fork Spoon are also proving popular with only a small number of tickets available.
The Courier's Kristy Bye said the response from local and visiting foodies proves Ballarat has become a foodie Mecca.
"It’s exciting to see the Ballarat community has embraced the festival with several events already booked out,” she said.
But with the month-long event already into its first week, those wishing to participate are encouraged to purchase tickets now.
“I recommend getting into your favourites early,” Ms Bye said.
The festival continues into the weekend with The Lane’s International Fest from 4pm on Friday.
