Zaragosa will host a Spring into Spanish dining experience on Sunday with diners promised a day of dishes unlikely to ever be cooked at home.
Zaragosa owner Scott Anstis said the team have aimed to incorporate flavours from herbs and spices many people are accustomed to and, combined them into contemporary Spanish dishes.
Featuring on Sunday’s menu will be Spanish olives with crusty bread and cured Spanish ham, beef cheek empanadillas, Spanish herb crusted sword fish, chicken and chorizo or rabbit and wild mushroom paella and, a dessert tasting plate with Mijito cheesecake, chocolate chili-berry ice cream and churros.
“All the dishes are those which have been favourites over Zaragosa’s 11-year history,” Mr Anstis said.
Talking about the dessert tasting plate, Mr Anstis said diners will have the chance to not only taste popular Spanish dessert dishes, but dishes often too complicated to attempt at home.
“We believe that a dining experience shouldn’t end at the main course at home, people aren't likely to be whipping up desserts so when people dine out, they want to be spoilt and a good dessert is one way to achieve this,” he said.
“At Zaragosa, Spanish Churros are much loved by the regulars, but we also like to put twists on other favourites which is why we turned the refreshing Mojito cocktail into a delightful spring cheesecake.”
Diners will also have the option of matching wine to their meals, which Mr Anstis said can add to any meal.
“Imagine red sangria paired with the tasty paella, and the Spanish experience is just that little bit more realistic.”
Zaragosa’s Spring into Spanish event will be held at 12.30pm on Sunday, November 22.
Tickets: $60 per person for food or $95 matched with wine. Bookings: 5333 1435.
