While we would love a drop of rain, at least it is still comforting to know Lake Wendouree is full of water.
But, as you will see below, it wasn’t always the case.

Ballarat is well on track to break the lowest rainfall record for the month with not a drop of rain recorded for the new year.
Ballarat has missed out on rain despite neighbouring regions recording more than 20mm of rain in recent days after thunderstorms pushed through the state.
Weatherzone spokesperson Brett Dutschke said rain in the last couple of days has been in the form of thunderstorms only.
“They have been mainly in the north but brought decent rainfalls to some places,” he said.
"Even those only a few kilometres away were only getting a few drops or nothing at all.”
He said the low pressure trough has since weakened but could still bring a chance to rain in the region today and tomorrow.
“It’s not likely to be intense, the main action is in Eastern Victoria.
‘We should see some showers today, then even lighter tomorrow.”
Locals shouldn’t hold their breath for rain in the coming weeks with temperatures expected to soar again.
“It should reach the mid thirties early next week for a few days in a row,” Mr Dutschke said.
“The hot spell starts Sunday.”
Ballarat’s average rainfall for January is 39.1mm with the city recording it’s driest month in 2009 with 0.9mm.
