A NEW round of funding for new Men’s Sheds and refurbishments is now available.
Minister for Families and Children Jenny Mikakos made the announcement during a visit to the Buninyong Men’s Shed on Tuesday.
Community groups and local councils can apply for a grant of up to $60,000 to build a new Men’s Shed or for a grant of up to $30,000 to refurbish an existing Men's Shed. Communities affected by fire and drought will be given priority in funding.
“Community spaces such as men’s sheds play a vital role in the rebuilding process for fire or drought affected communities,” she said.
“We are proud to support Men’s Sheds as they help enhance the physical and mental well-being of members, which has a positive impact on them, their families and the overall community.”
Applications close in May.
