Shaw on pace in stage one
PAT Shaw finished in the lead group in stage one of the Tour Down Under in South Australia on Tuesday.
The Ballarat rider was among 127 to finish on the same time as stage winner Caleb Ewan, who reinforced his status as the fastest road sprinter in world cycling.
Shaw is makiing his WorldTour debut and riding with UniSA-Australia, which had Steele Von Hoff finish 10th in the 131km stage.
Shaw's teammate Sean Lake leads the king of the mountain after being in a breakaway.
