
A SECOND teenager allegedly involved in the attempted armed robbery of plain-clothed police officers in the Candian State Forest on Wednesday has been arrested and charged.
Police arrested the second teen, a 17-year-old Ballarat boy, at a residence in Ballarat yesterday afternoon.
He has been charged with attempted armed robbery, theft of motor vehicle and associated offences and has been remanded to appear in a children’s court this morning.
Members in an unmarked police vehicle were patrolling the state forest in Canadian when they were boxed in by two other cars at about 11.10am.
A male from one of the cars allegedly approached the plain clothed officers, produced a knife and demanded cash.
A 16-year-old Ballarat boy was arrested at the scene and has already appeared at court.
One of the cars believed to be involved has already been located by detectives.
The second car, a gold Peugeot sedan with registration UKF 333, which was last seen in the Ballarat area with two men inside, is yet to be located.
