The City of Ballarat’s Learmonth Pathway to Growth Project is now complete.
The $680,000 project, comprised of $415,000 in funding from the state government, $215,000 from the COB and $15,000 from the Learmonth Community Action Team, is aimed at revitalising much of Learmonth’s cultural infrastructure.
The project includes a five-kilometre path network, lake foreshore improvements, a regional lookout, a bird hide structure, new park furniture, interpretive signage and the installation of a new piece of public art.
City of Ballarat Mayor said Lake Learmonth, although dry, remains an attraction for the township.
“One of the iconic symbols of Learmonth is Lake Learmonth, which has been dry,” he said.
“It’s (the project) about building on the strengths that are there and showcasing the local areas.”
