Dan Tehan’s service as chairman of the Joint Committee on Intelligence and Security has paid off, with the Wannon MP sworn in to Malcolm Turnbull’s ministry on Thursday.
Mr Tehan, a former diplomat, was named Minister for Veterans Services and Minister for Defence Materiel on February 13 and his new roles were made official at Government House at the swearing-in ceremony.
Mr Tehan will be the third minister in each portfolio in a matter of months, with Abbott loyalists losing them and then the resignations of Mal Brough and Stuart Robert more recently over scandals.
He said on his website “it is vital that we never forget the service and sacrifice of the men and women who served our country.”
