THERE’s something special about the ringing out of piano keys.
Perhaps the beauty of piano playing explains the lasting endurance of favourites like Rhapsody in Blue or Für Elise.
The first Piano for Pleasure concert of 2016 will be held this Sunday at the Art Gallery of Ballarat.
The series has been running for more than 15 years and is a chance to see some of Ballarat’s best young talent.
The free concerts are ideal for families, with children encouraged to attend, and are a perfect introduction into classical music and the arts world.
Senior piano students of well-known teacher Bron Sozanski will present a program of music from the last three centuries.
This weekend, Christopher Milne, Jing Zhang and Cooper Harwood will perform Haydn, Chopin ,Grieg and more including 20th century classical and jazz styles.
Any donations are appreciated to support the maintenance of the gallery’s piano.
The concert will begin Sunday at 2.30pm.
