Flowers were just the start at the Begonia Festival.
Like last year the star attraction for kids were again the Lego animals and blooms.
Oliver Jones, 6, said the Lego was his favourite.
“We saw the dog,” he said.
But there were other hits.
His brother Liam, 7, said the rope maze was the best.
Among the many thousands of visitors there were both the begonia fans and those keen on a day out in the gardens.
The hub was as always was the Robert Clark Conservatory where the famous begonia collection is found.
Ballan man Alan Allsop said he and his wife come first thing in the morning every year for the blooming begonias.
“The flowers are fantastic, like every year,” he said, holding a new one of his own to take home.
As festival veterans, the Jones brothers did have one criticism. No woodworking for kids this year.
Their mother Sam said it had been the highlight last year.
“It was great (last year), but we went to find it and it wasn’t there,” she said.
