KATHRYN Mitchell has taken another step towards booking her ticket to the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.
The 32-year-old Ballarat athlete managed a second Olympic qualifying throw of 63.95m to win the javelin event at the Perth Track Classic on Saturday.
Mitchell’s performance follows her first qualifier, which came at the IAAF Melbourne World Challenge earlier this month.
