Right before the storm hit on Thursday night people got their cars checked for safety.
This will be crucial as we head into winter, and Alfredton Rotary Club put on a free car check evening to make sure people were on a safe set of wheels.
President Deb Robertson said the initiative had been a success elsewhere in Victoria and they would be keen to bring it back next year if people embraced it.
Federation University, Tyrepower and Burson helped out.
