GOLDEN Point is hoping to extend Sri Lankan import Saman Jayantha’s stay with the club.
The Ballarat Cricket Association firsts reigning premier is in negotiations with Jayanatha, who has been with the club for two seasons.
Golden Point president Mark Van De Heuvel said the club was keen to secure the Sri Lankan international for another two seasons.
He said Victorian Premier Cricket team Greenvale Kangaroos had also shown interest in recruiting him, but Golden Point was confident it had the frontrunning.
Jayantha returned to his family in Sri Lanka the day after Golden Point’s grand final win.
He is seeking opportunities to play in England this year.
