REDHEADS, carrot tops and “blueys” of all kinds will converge on Melbourne on Saturday for Australia’s first-ever Ginger Pride rally – and Ballarat’s own Belinda Price will be amongst them.
Ms Price, an entertainment blogger and Voice FM host, said she was bullied as a child for being a redhead much like every other crimson-haired kid she knew.
But these days, she knows her flaming locks are a blessing – not a curse.
She said it was a known fact that not only did redheads have higher pain thresholds – but were also known for their talents between the sheets.
“We’re supposedly great lovers as well,” she said.
Ms Price said also said redheads were more readily excused for their tempers.
“We can get away with it. I’m a Taurus as well, so I’m stubborn – it’s a double-edged sword.”
Any other redhead Ballarat people are welcome to join Ms Price and the carrot-tops of Victoria at the rally.
The meeting place is Boathouse Drive, near Alexandra Park in Melbourne at 10.30am.
