
Unoccupied ute struck by train
AN UNOCCUPIED ute was struck by a freight train near Maryborough in the early hours of Friday morning.
Police are investigating why an unregistered blue Ford ute was parked on the freight-only tracks when it was struck at 4.10am this morning.
The collision occurred about 500 metres from the Bendigo-Maryborough and Maryborough-Dunolly roads intersections.
No one was injured but police are concerned about the dangerous nature of the incident.
Police are searching for the ute driver and are appealing to the public for any information.
