THE ACU Sovereigns were comfortably accounted for by 2015 minor premiers the City West Falcons in their Victorian Netball League Championship clash on Wednesday night, going down 65-40.
While the Falcons led all the way in the round two encounter, the Sovereigns were within striking distance at the end of the first half, trailing by eight goals. However last year’s grand finalists shot away to seal their first win of the season.
The Sovereigns maintained their undefeated start to the season in the 19 and under division, accounting for the Falcons 49-45, however the division one side were convincingly dispatched 50-34.
The Sovereigns next assignment will be against the Wilson Storage Southern Saints on Sunday, who also remain winless in the championship after two rounds.
