THE WESTERN Oval and Wendouree Reserve 2 have both been ruled out for the first half of the Ballarat Football season, with junior matches being rescheduled to avoid the hard surfaces.
In total six matches have been rescheduled to alternative venues from round three through to 13, with games to take place at the two ovals in the final three rounds.
The decision to relocate the junior matches comes after a state government announcement last week pledging $50,000 to the Ballarat City Council to install a new irrigation system at the Western Oval.
The two ovals serve as the home grounds for the Redan and Lake Wendouree junior football clubs.
