A HEADED goal in the dying minutes of the Ballarat Red Devils’ clash with the Goulburn Valley Suns has kept the Reds’ winning streak alive, with the visitors taking the points 1-0.

The clash in Shepparton on Sunday afternoon started slowly, with neither side able to assert their dominance in the opening half. The first genuine scoring opportunity would not come until the 31st minute of the clash.
It took until 10 minutes after the restart for the Suns to generate their first scoring opportunity, which was comfortably saved. The Suns would manage to find the net later in the half however an offside call disallowed the goal.
The Reds looked as though they would limp to the finish line in the cross-conference encounter with both Dom Swinton and Daniel Firth pulling up sore during the second half. With the match poised to finish in deadlock, a corner in the third minute of overtime would prove to be the decisive ball, with David King heading the ball into the back of the net.
