Rowing icon and three-time Olympic gold medallist Drew Ginn will be one of the guests of honour, along with Olympic medallists and former St Patrick’s College students Anthony Edwards, James Marburg and Christian Ryan.
Other medallists Jarred Tallent, Sarah Tait, Kate Hornsey, Karsten Forsterling and Cameron McKenzie McHarg will also be at the event, along with Paralympic gold medallist Greg Smith fresh from being Australian flag bearer for the London Paralympic team.
St Patrick’s College director of rowing John Cumper said tickets were now on sale for anyone wishing to attend the evening and enjoy dinner with a host of Olympic greats.
“This event promises to be one of the greatest Olympic functions ever held in Ballarat,” Cumper said.
“We are very lucky to have so many Olympic legends prepared to offer their time to come to Ballarat and meet with the wider community to talk about their times at the peak of their sports.
“To have Drew Ginn attending, who is arguably the greatest rower in Australia’s history, is a major coup for the College – not to mention the amazing array of talent we will be fortunate enough to have attend along with him.”
The function will be held at the St Patrick’s College Pavilion. Tickets are $100 per person and include an all inclusive three-course meal and entertainment, with family ticket options available. Phone the college on 5331 1688 to book.
