BALLARAT youngster Jake Jans has been named one of the best junior BMX racers in the state after taking out the Junior State BMX Series under-11 boys division on the weekend.

In the final race of the season at the Warrnambool BMX Club Jans managed to finish third, which was enough to get him over the line in the seven race series.
A strong start to the series allowed the youngster to build a sizable lead early in the competition, with Jans winning two of the first five events and placing in another. Jans managed to make it through to the final race of all six events he competed in.
Jans will now take a short break over winter before the Victorian BMX series returns in early June at the Mildura BMX Club.
