Two Ballarat companies have won at the inaugural Victorian Automotive Chamber of Commerce industry awards.
Ballarat Taxis Co-Operative’s service station was declared the best in the state and Smart Parts won the Best Auto Recycler award.
Service station manager Joy Robson said their service must have been the winning factor.
“It’s a only a little place, and we’re fighting all these other big ones that have got all these price wars that we can’t compete with…but our driveway service is our point of difference,” she said.
“Especially with our disabled, elderly customers, young mums who need a hand.”
It was the first edition of the annual awards for VACC members but both Mrs Robson and Smart Parts business manager Andrea Byron said they were keen to try and keep their titles next year.
Fellow Ballarat business Carworks was also a finalist in the awards, and was up for best used car dealer among VACC members.
