WIN News Ballarat will move to 6pm from July 1 when WIN Television links up with the Ten Network.
Popular show Family Feud will be relegated to Ten’s secondary channels Eleven and One, and the timing will see Bruce Roberts competing with former stablemate Peter Hitchener.
The deal between WIN Television and the Ten Network was signed last month after the Nine Network went to Southern Cross in a shock move.
Nine ended an almost 30-year relationship with WIN, which has left uncertainty over Bruce Gordon’s corporation’s ability to keep funding local news from a lower revenue base the Ten shows offer.
WIN CEO Andrew Lancaster announced the programming decision in a statement on Thursday.
“Our 30 minute regional local news bulletins will take their place at 6pm on our primary WIN channel, giving our viewers one of the most comprehensive evening news and current affairs line-ups in the country,” he said.
“The WIN Network has always been committed to producing strong regional local news coverage and our position in this [new] line-up reinforces the importance we place on keeping our viewers informed at both local and national level.”
