THE king of pop will grace the stage at Ballarat’s Her Majesty’s Theatre this weekend.
It’s been seven years since the death of Michael Jackson, but the demand for his musical talents has never been higher.
This Saturday Micheal Jackson impersonator Dantonio is set to recreate the performer’s popular concert for Ballarat audiences.
The vast catalogue of Jackson’s work, including hits from his beginnings in Jackson 5 to the groundbreaking theatrics of the 1980s, will be performed on stage in the newly revamped production of HIStory.
One of the world’s biggest Micheal Jackson tribute shows, the production has been recently revamped to stay true to Jackson’s high energy concerts with refined choreography, updated costumes and new stage effects.
Impersonator Dantonio has replaced Kenny Wizz after being scouted by the show’s director to fill the challenging role.
A fan of Jackson since a early age, Dantonio said he looks forward to honouring his idol.
He said an appreciation of the pop star’s dancing evolved into an obsessive practice as he taught himself to emulate the detail of Jackson’s trademark dance style.
Michael Jackson HIStory will be performed at Her Majesty’s Theatre on Saturday at 8pm. For more information or to purchase tickets visit www.hermaj.com
