He steered Petacular ($2.10 favourite) home in the $115,000 Vicbred Super Series final for 2yo fillies.
“It’s a great thrill,” Stanley said.
“She’s a tough filly and had to do it the tough way, but she just showed her versatility and was the best one on the night.”
Petacular was also the first two VSS final winners on the night bred by Bruce Edward, who had his Durham Lead property devastated by fire late last year.
Trainer Anton Golino had his biggest win since setting up at Cardigan with Aldebaran Eve ($6.60) in the group 1 Vicbred Super Series 3yo trotting fillies’ final at Melton on Friday night.
Breeder and owner Pat Driscoll, who praised the training effort of Golino, has relocated the training and breeding operation from Queensland. Golino said he appreciated the win.
