CLUNES showjumping rider Steven Hill has missed out on selection for the Rio de Janeiro Olympic Games.
Hill’s mother Dianne Hill told The Courier that Steven was "very disappointed”.
Hill, 27, and his horse Yalambi’s Bellini Star have been competing with an Australian squad in the Nations Cup in Europe.
Mrs Hill said the team had finished 11th, ninth and eighth in the events he had contested.
She said her son, who was a former Ballarat High School student, was attempting to sell Yalambi’s Bellini Star to offset costs, but if unsuccessful he would bring her home.
Australia will be represented by 1988 Seoul Olympian Scott Keach, 2012 Olympian James Paterson-Robinson, and 2008 Beijing and 2012 London Olympians Edwina Tops-Alexander and Matthew Williams. Paterson-Robinson and Williams filled the last two places.
