The Australian Electoral Commission is just a couple of thousand votes from officially declaring the seat of Ballarat.
As of Monday there are still 2258 declaration votes yet to be processed.
Incumbent MP Catherine King has increased her margin from 4.9 per cent to 7.2 per cent in a clear victory against Liberal candidate Sarah Wade.
Ms King claimed the seat on the night on a margin of almost 7 per cent, which has increased as the count continues.
Ms King surpassed a predicted margin of 6.5 per cent with 57.27 per cent of the two-party-preferred vote, against Ms Wade’s 42.73 per cent.
Greens candidate Alice Barnes secured 10.75 per cent of the vote, followed by The Nationals candidate Paul Tatchelll with 4.2 per cent and Australian Christians Party’s Dianne Colbert with 2.07 per cent.
The AEC has declared 14 electorates in Victoria, including neighbouring Corangamite and Wannon.
