Every year hundreds of Ballarat parents struggle to feed their children throughout winter, but thanks to the support of the community they will be given the chance to go to bed on a full stomach.
Coles Bakery Hill customers have helped raise more than $2000 in gift vouchers and donated 16 boxes of food for this year’s 3BA Christmas in July Appeal.
“It’s important to support the local community and local needs,” Coles store manager Bree Nutley said.
“Most of our team live here, we know people in need. This is a great opportunity for us to give back.”
Uniting Care crisis support co-ordinator Naomi Barley said every donation made a significant impact in the lives of families in need.
Christmas in July appeal director Peter Caligari said the appeal needed to raise $225,000 in cash, food and blankets to help the number of people in need in Ballarat.
Donations can be left at the 3BA Lydiard Street office.
