Sergeant Ian Gibson said the incident occurred at 10.15am this morning when an unknown motorist clipped the side of one car and crashed into the rear of another, causing that car to push into a third vehicle.
Sergeant Gibson said the motorist then drove away.
He said while no-one had seen the driver or taken down the license plate, police felt confident they would apprehend the offender as they would have obvious frontal damage to their car.
“We’re making further enquiries as to the identity of the offender and the offending vehicle,” he said.
