It has been revealed discussions are underway to use the funds leftover from the Ballarat Lifestyle and Aquatic Centre’s 50 metre pool.
In 2012, the Ballarat City Council borrowed $17 million for the construction of a controversial 50 metre pool.

But, the project came in more than $1.3 million under budget and debate has now ignited over the best use of the remaining funds.
Cr Amy Johnson has called for the council to consider using the money for other projects like CBD car parking.

But other councillors including, Cr Vicki Coltman, say Ballarat is crying out for a facility like this for young people.

Should the money saved from the 50 metre pool project be put into a $1 million water slide at the Ballarat Lifestyle and Aquatic Centre?
Or should the leftover money be used for something else?
