For the second year in succession, Gordon has pipped Waubra for a spot in the top four.
The Eagles locked away a double chance in the Central Highlands Football League finals series with a 28-point victory in the fourth-placed playoff on Saturday.
Waubra led the contest at home by a solitary point at half time, but failed to kick another goal in the match as the Eagles finished the better of the two sides.
Eagles goal-sneak Mick Nolan copped a heavy knock in the opening minutes of the clash and didn’t take any further part in the game, while the Roos were left with a host of injury concerns to key players. Tim Boyle hurt an ankle, Matt James a knee, Matthew Wapling copped a broken nose, while Matt Dawson, who was one of his team’s best, had a back issue.
The result means Gordon finishes fourth and will take on minor premiers Buninyong in a qualifying final next Saturday.
Fifth-placed Waubra now prepares for an elimination final with Daylesford.
Meanwhile, Paul McMahon produced a stunning 22-goal haul against Smythesdale to claim a last-gasp win in the league goal-kicking award.
McMahon ends the home and away campaign on 79 majors, six clear of Ballan coach Justin McConnell.
Springbank finished in second place on the ladder and will take on third-placed Bungaree in the other qualifying final.
The remaining elimination final will be played between Beaufort and Hepburn.
