Federation College’s P-TECH students gained a medical research insight during National Science Week. The students, studying the STEM (science, technology, engineering and maths) subjects, toured the Fiona Elsey Cancer Research Institute on Thursday.

P-TECH industry liasion coordinator Sofia Fiusco said the students were studying science and medical research.
“They’re learning that you may not get the right answer right away but by being persistent and refining your work you can do it in the end,” Ms Fiusco said.
FECRI fundraising and communications manager David McMahon said they were always looking for innovative ways to engage with the local community.
Federation College partners with IBM to deliver the P-TECH program.
