Mandy Shillito’s stable is on fire.
The small-time Ballarat thoroughbred trainer landed her third winner from her past six runners when The Big Labrownski scored a two-length success at Warracknabeal on Saturday.
Ridden by Georgina Cartwright, the five-year-old landed his second career victory in a benchmark 58 event over 1205m.
Shillito also prepared Peculatus for back-to-back victories during August.
Meanwhile, young Ballarat jockey Leticia Griffin has continued a brilliant start to her riding career.
The Dan O’Sullivan apprentice partnered Con Kelly-trained Alaska to a benchmark 64 triumph, also at Warracknabeal on Saturday.
Griffin’s success takes her competitive record to two wins from three starters.
She broke through on debut at Donald the weekend before her two rides on Saturday afternoon.
Griffin also had a down-the-track finish on O’Sullivan-trained galloper Reward for Glory.
