ORIGINAL STORY: The community is needed to help curb crime by repeat offenders who continued to commit aggravated burglaries across the city, police say.
Police have issued warrants of arrest for a number offenders wanted over aggravated burglaries committed in the region.
Superintendent Andrew Allen has released names and images of a number offenders who police believe have been “very active across a multitude of crime categories”.
“Someone who is wanted for an aggravated burglary may have stolen a vehicle, this vehicle could be used in another crime,” Superintendent Allen said.
“There is a lot of crossover in these crime categories. There may be a small number of offenders, but they are very active across a multitude of crime categories.”

Police are continuing to investigate a number of aggravated burglaries including one in Sebastopol.
Police said are investigating a violent burglary where an owner who lives onsite woke to find offenders rummaging through his Hertford Street store office on Monday.
Police believe two offenders smashed through a window, breaking into the shop while the owners slept.
The victim confronted the offenders and had a short altercation before the offender fled the scene.
The number of aggravated burglaries in the Ballarat local government area has soared from 77 in the April to March period of 2014 to 142 in the same period this year.
“We know that a great many of offenders don’t travel far from home so we are fairly confident that these people are still in the community and someone knows where they are staying,” Superintendent Allen said.
“There is a very high likelihood these people we will continue to offend so we are asking everyone to keep an eye out and call Crime Stoppers.”
The chief executive of Crimestoppers, who are backing the campaign is confident Ballarat residents will help police catch offenders.
“It saves valuable police investigative time and it will stop people’s homes being violated,” Ms Sam Hunter said.

Daniel Cassell is wanted by Ballarat Police for failing to appear at Ballarat Magistrate’s Court in March in relation to an alleged burglary.
There is currently one outstanding warrant for the arrest of the 24-year-old.
Cassells is known to frequent the Ballarat and Scarsdale areas.

Christopher Castle is wanted by Ballarat Police for failing to appear at the Bacchus Marsh Magistrates Court on July 15, 2016 in relation to an alleged Burglary that occurred in the Laverton North area.
There are currently two outstanding warrants for the arrest of the 29-year-old.
Castle is known to frequent the Bacchus Marsh and Hoppers Crossing areas.
He has three known tattoos including the words ‘respect’ and ‘loyalty’ on his right hand, the outline of a map of Australia on his lower right leg and an unknown image on his upper right arm.

Gottlieb is known to frequent the Ballarat and Murchison areas.
He has two known tattoos including the picture of a skull on his upper right arm and a merlin wizard also
on his upper right arm.
