Ballarat Health Services chief executive officer Dale Fraser was cleaning, making beds and feeding residents at Bill Crawford Lodge on Friday morning as he walked in the shoes of BHS care providers.
Mr Fraser is dedicating some time each month to work in different areas within the organisation as part of a CEO Assist program.
“I think as leaders we need to know more about what’s going on at the coalface of patient and resident care,” he said. “I don’t get that from sitting in an office all day… and if being engaged is about culture change then this will be culture change.”
Mr Fraser told The Courier in July a key part of his new role as CEO would be to empower and engage all BHS staff after bullying allegations surfaced last year.
